I have suffered from tension headaches for the last 7 years. I have tried many different things including burning the nerve endings in my neck and a shot of cortisone and steroids. The shot worked temporarily, but when I started physical therapy, that’s when the progress really started.

Ashley Kuhnau is a Physical Therapist Assistant with Advantage Rehab Inc. and the director of clinical operations. A 2002 graduate of Lake Area Technical Institute in SD with an Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy and has been with Advantage Rehab Inc. from the beginning.

She enjoys getting to know and treating patients as well as helping them discover their unique learning styles and areas of growth. It is important to her that each individual she is fortunate to treat as a patient understand their body and their symptoms, and never leave without a full understanding of their injury and why they feel what they do.

Since working with ARI she has gained a great understanding of those who suffer with chronic pain, which is a growing issue for many. This has allowed her to sharpen her skills in neck and back pain treatments as well as educating patients on how to live life with their pain. Dealing with chronic back pain personally has allowed her the skills and empathy necessary to be diligent in practice.

Along with years of treating chronic pain she noticed a continual need for further care for many who suffered from the mental roadblocks to living with pain.  Going back to school she is also a Certified Brainspotting Practitioner,  Certified Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and Certified Life Coach and is excited to also bring this avenue to not only her patients but the area.
